Law Practice Continued

Ruth’s many years of experience writing and arguing appellate briefs, and crafting petitions for writ of mandamus and petitions for Oregon Supreme Court review, expertly serves her clients through her in-depth understanding and knowledge of appellate rules, procedure, and decorum, her skilled presentation of clear, organized, well-developed, and persuasive arguments, and her learned efficiencies in navigating the appellate process, both substantively and procedurally, to maximize the opportunity for the best results for her clients.

Ruth’s written and oral advocacy for the firm’s clients in Oregon state and federal trial courts involves working with the trial lawyers to develop a strong factual and procedural record, narrow and focus the controlling issues, and present convincing legal analyses to best serve our clients in pre-trial motions, trial memorandums, jury instructions, motions in limine, and post-trial motions, including presenting and objecting to attorney-fee petitions.

Ruth’s subject area experience includes all aspects of professional malpractice, defending government municipalities and employers against all types of state and federal tort claims, including Section 1983 claims, First Amendment claims, Title VII and analogous Oregon and Washington state law claims for employment discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, and public and employment accommodation claims under the American with Disabilities Act, as well as other areas of commercial and general civil litigation.
