Chip Horner’s law practice focuses on defending medical negligence lawsuits, including high exposure birth trauma claims, ophthalmology, autism, failure to diagnose cancer, wrongful death and surgical matters.  He is experienced in all aspects of health law.

Chip’s clients range from large integrated health systems to solo practitioners, nurses, midwives, dentists, and many different allied health professionals.  Chip also represents clients before licensing boards in Oregon and Washington and advises his clients on related health law matters.  Additionally, he has experience in general liability lawsuits, including Employer Liability Law, premises liability and motor vehicle accidents.

Matt is an experienced litigation and appellate attorney.  

An accomplished litigator and skilled negotiator, Matt has extensive experience representing national, regional and local clients in high-value, complex litigation.  His clients include financial institutions, entertainment companies, hospitals, national and local law firms, public entities, and many executives, officers, directors, professionals and business owners. 

Matt’s specialty is litigating complicated disputes.  He has experience with cases involving business transactions, professional duties, securities fraud, accounting and finance, shareholder disputes, class actions, derivative actions, trust and partnership disputes, and “alter ego” claims. Matt has litigated many cases challenging or focused on constitutional, statutory and regulatory provisions and schemes, including First Amendment and related cases.  He has particular expertise with matters arising out of the Oregon Securities Act. 

Matt also has extensive appellate experience.  He regularly serves as lead appellate counsel in cases throughout the Pacific Northwest, and has argued over 50 cases in state and federal appellate courts, including in the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court and the Oregon Court of Appeals.  A successful track record of appeals includes numerous instances where he has procured reversals of an unfavorable court or jury verdict.

Cally Korach focuses her practice on defending professional liability matters.  She represents licensed real estate brokers and property managers in binding arbitration, litigation and licensing claims.  Cally also defends medical professionals, hospitals, and clinics in medical malpractice and wrongful death actions in Oregon and Washington.

Donna’s practice focuses on representing health care professionals, hospitals, and long-term care facilities in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington.  She also assists clients outside the courtroom, including representation before state licensing boards and other administrative law matters.

Kimberlee has more than twenty years of experience defending employers throughout the state of Oregon against all types of employment claims in both state and federal courts.  She has represented public entities as well as private sector employers providing litigation defense, advise, counsel and pre-litigation strategies, as well as conducting employment trainings, investigations and employment policy review.

Karen O’Kasey is a trial attorney who defends employers and medical professionals in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington.  She has successfully defended employers in all types of employment claims in federal and state court.  She has also tried to defense verdict numerous medical negligence claims in Oregon and Washington.

Aaron defends complex civil litigation cases with emphasis on medical and dental malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and general liability.  Aaron has tried and arbitrated cases in Oregon and Washington.  Aaron routinely represents physicians, dentists, physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers before professional regulatory and licensing boards in both Oregon and Washington.  Aaron also provides legal counsel to medical clinics and advises healthcare providers on health law issues such as privacy, HIPAA, HITECH, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback statute.  Aaron also counsels medical providers and clinics on practice management issues, contractual disputes, and drafts and negotiates contracts.  Aaron has served as Hart Wagner’s HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer since 2014.

Janet frequently serves the firm’s clients in the Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Supreme Court, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  She also represents her clients’ business, professional and personal interests before various trial courts and professional licensing agencies.  Her practice requires that she often work closely with the client’s general counsel or trial lawyer on appellate matters, so she has developed a strong and long lasting relationship with other lawyers.

Joe is a civil trial attorney who focuses his practice on defending catastrophic injury claims, product liability claims, claims against automobile insurers and their insureds, and claims of every nature against employers.  Over the past 23 years, Joe has successfully defended and tried wrongful death claims, employers’ liability act claims, trucking accidents, liquor liability claims, construction defect claims, claims against medical professionals, landlord tenant disputes, as well as premises liability, race discrimination, foodborne illness and false arrest claims for retail establishments across Oregon and Washington.

Erika’s practice focuses on defending medical providers, dental providers, hospitals, lawyers, and realtors in professional malpractice claims.  She also represents her clients before various professional regulatory and licensing boards.  Erika’s practice also includes general civil litigation including defense of premises liability, motor vehicle, and general liability claims.  She has developed a diverse practice handling cases involving complex legal, medical, and factual issues.  She is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington.
